Cumhuriyet
The Cumhuriyet means “a form of government in which the nation holds sovereignty in its own hands and exercises it through its elected deputies for certain periods.” The reason I gave this name to the font is that 2023 is the centennial of the Republic of Turkey founded by Atatürk. The sans serif Cumhuriyet font contains almost all the glyphs of the Latin alphabet. It also serves very different design purposes by including seventy styles. Cumhuriyet font has Extralight, Light, Regular, Medium, Semibold, Bold and Extrabold weights.. All these weights also support the Condensed, Narrow, Normal, Wide and Expanded styles from narrow to wide. Thus, the Cumhuriyet font is a family of seventy fonts. With its geometric feature, the Cumhuriyet font has gained many innovations and improvements with the second version. First of all, the Cumhuriyet font has been rearranged in terms of the space between letters (kerning), the space between words (tracking) and the space between lines (leading). The design of most glyphs in the font, has been renewed, thus the font has gained a more stable and aesthetic structure. In addition, the font has gained new opentype features with the second version and existing opentype features have been improved. The opentype features added to the Cumhuriyet font are as follows:
